The Beech Island Country Store was completed in time for the Spring 2019 tour and everyone who stopped by to take a look loved it. The old Coke machine, counter, signs, display case, and newly built shelves full of old store items nearly filled up the inside. Over the summer of 2019 we moved in some more items and still have many more items to fill up the building.
On the outside, we have a restored kerosene tank. We still have an ESSO gas pump from the late Jim Prior’s farm that we need to get restored and placed out front. The society received $1,000 in contingency funds from Aiken County Councilman Danny Feagin. That money, will be used to restore the gas pump and maybe have a sign made.
